Bad experience at the Liberty, MO Culvers. It's not often we suggest a boycott, but for the Liberty and State Line stores, we are.

Full story on our blog, The Road Less Ordinary.

Read the blog, damn the man. But Our olathe Culvers has a kick ASS pot roast sandwhich. I usually skip the bun.

I promise never to his the Liberty,or state line one! ;) and that has everything to do with you, and their location.

I think it all comes down to the owners of the franchises. We just got a difficult one up north. I don't know anything about the KS Culver owners or their openness to bringing your own cheese. If you go in there, you might ask a manager for us. It would be good to know in advance because my sister is in Olathe and sometimes we do go out there.

I left a comment over there.

You are right to encourage people to frequent the stores that are able to work with you, but be aware that there might be external reasons why the Liberty store was not able to accommodate your reasonable request (because of unreasonable city health codes, perhaps).

The owner did not cite any health codes and indeed said that he didn't know any exact code. He kept coming back to common sense as his argument.

There is so much to say but so few words. Since the place is owned by two couples, I wonder if it would have been any better if Michelle had been able to talk to one of the wives (mothers nurturing instinct and all that).

On the other hand, we enjoy going to the location at Village West, and for you, I'll ask about their cheese policy next time we get over there.

Thanks for offering to ask. It would be nice to know KS locations for when we are over that way. Make sure you talk to a manager and tell them we would like to bring in our own cheese because of a food allergy. Hopefully they will be as accommodating at the Lee's Summit owners and managers. Oh and we don't go through the drive through, it is always a walk in order. There are health regulations about passing food through the drive-thru window.

Thanks again.
