OH, what software do you use to pull from Dvd? I found a bit from Sourceforge called DVD Flick that seems to work fairly fast for me... but that's converting from files TO DVD format... not the same thing at all.

Software I use:

DVDx (http://www.labdv.com/dvdx/). Converts DVD video straight from the disc to either MPG, WMV, or AVI.

WinDV (http://windv.mourek.cz/), for capturing videos from DV device (my camera, or a compliant analog device) into AVI-files via FireWire (IEEE 1394) interface. Capturing is very reliable thanks to use of large buffer queue.

DVDLab Pro. (http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/dvdlabpro.html) Professional level DVD authoring.

SureThing CD Labeler (http://www.surething.com/ST/Category.asp?CatCode=ST5_HOME). Pro level disc labeling, even with LightScribe.

Riva Encoder (http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2140_4-10381392&ontId=2140_4&spi=9789e38b83f96880bde51edac05276d8&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=10381392&mfgId=6262579&merId=6262579&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2F3001-2140_4-10381392.html%3Fspi%3D9789e38b83f96880bde51edac05276d8). For creating FLV (Flash video) files.
