Hey! My friend Sean (seantaclaus) on LJ just posted about a film festival that you might be interested in. Go and read his post or here is the relavant bit "Looks like I may need to look for another potential ride for us to the Missouri Film Alliance event there as well-- again, if someone gets us down there, I've already been offered free crash space, and should likely be able to make arrangements for membership. It's a film festival and midwest area industry conference, so if you're interested in doing work in or learning about the film industry at all, it would be worth going checking out. While I'm going there to seen my brother Keith and our friend Tom Seymour (who currently does FX work for Jericho, and has worked on Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 among various other shows and movies over the years), I'm actually looking at it as a good place to make contacts for potential art gigs doing concepts and storyboarding in the film industry as well. A lot of people don't realize that Missouri actually has an active film industry, one that's growing regularly as more and more companies are opting to film on location to save costs on lots, sets, and such. I'll see about posting a link to it over the weekend for those interested."
Don't know if it's up your alley, but it couldn't hurt!
