Christmas Eve
Dec. 24th, 2006 20:15The presentation went well at church this morning. I had several people thank me for making as much effort as I did, but when it comes down to it I was grateful for the opportunity. I don't perform much anymore and enjoy it when I do.
The gift opening at the Grandparent's was a more sedate affair than in years past. There were fewer presents, which helped, and it was more a day with family (and, if I'm to be totally honest) an opportunity to have a nice long afternoon nap with my daughter.
Jami has turned into a wrecking ball on legs, enjoying every opportunity he can get to reach into boxes, bags, drawers, cabinets, and pockets to remove and throw everything he can get his hands on. Much of our time is spent sheepdogging him and keeping him out of trouble, and of course referee-ing the bouts between him and his sister.
We got home at a reasonable time, leaving time to make cookies for Santa, get the kids in bed so we can stuff stockings, and maybe, just maybe, have a little time to ourselves before we go to sleep. Time now to go clean the house for tomorrow.
Though the circumstances were happy ones, it was still chaotic in its way, and a hard day for an HSP; I'm still processing it and so don't have a lot to say of any substance.
p.s. Remind me sometime to tell you what a grand experience hiccups can be for a person with GERD.
