Happy birthday to me
Feb. 28th, 2005 09:45Official, as of fifteen minutes ago. Lincoln, Nebraska, 39 years ago. Nothing special planned, which is just fine. It would be nice to have a normal day...okay, maybe not normal...a quiet day, with my tasks and expectations clearly defined, home by 5:20, supper by six, bed by eleven. That'd be alright.
My brother Mike (d. 7/4/2003) sent me a birthday card once that read "Don't think of it as getting older...(inside) Think of it as being one day closer to your impending death." You just have to understand my family; it was such a "Mike" thing to say. Damn, I miss the man; more than I miss my dad, who died when I was eighteen.
The tights sale at The Home Office has to this point been an astounding success. We've been struggling some, what with doctor bills and insufficient money coming in at the day job, and the biz has helped us already through a couple of lean weeks. Hoping to get some advertising out, soon as the bank approves a line of credit for the company. Interesting little niche market we discovered over the last week; looks to be fun.
And that's the way it is, Monday, February 28th, 2005. I'm William Morris. Thank you for watching. Good night.
p.s. If you're old enough to recognize that tagline, you're old enough :)
