mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (Default)

Talked to two of my clients yesterday about the looming deadline and received a much better response than I had any right to hope for.  In essence, "Deadline?  What deadline?"  My street character costumes, a few pieces left for an adult, and two shirts for a pair of ten year olds, are all that's due by tomorrow, and while it will be a long evening it is doable if I don't get interrupted.

The family is out of town visiting relatives Down South, so I've the house to myself.  I can run the TV and music as loud as I care to, and work as late as needed to get stuff done.  Won't be fun, but it will be finished.

The other costumes are "a.s.a.p." and somewhere the week of July 22nd.  Thank you, Protector of Overworked Tailors, for watching over me.

I have lining fabric in my car, and I can pick up some cord and fringey stuff to make tassels. My hope is to be in Marshfield earlier this weekend - around 8:00. You can probably put one together faster than I can. Still up for that? (It's okay if not...)

Yes, absolutely, oh.. not that night, I'm sure. I'll be in later, unfortunately, as I have a statue gig at the new RiverWalk in KC on Friday 3-8pm that day. What I was thinking is to go ahead and put one together quickly of the doublet fabric, leaving it so that the lining can easily be added later.

Yeah, sewing after midnight after a long drive after a long gig. MY IDEA OF FUN.

No problem, then. I can add the lining next week, I'll just need your pattern. Keep your receipt so's I can reimburse you. The trims, btw, were $39.50, so maybe we'll come out even and make the math easy...naaah, that'd make too much sense.

*chuckle* Yeah, it would be way too easy...but who knows.

You'll understand the pattern the minute you see it; it's 3/4 of a circle. The length of it is based on the measurement from your shoulder to the ends of your fingertips which I'm guessing is going to be about 34".
