morrisMusic In an effort to keep the kids out of the kitchen while Michelle was making dinner last night, I reached for my Taylor and started to play. It wasn't long before Katie came in wanting to join in - she's on the Samick. Jami is dancing in the middle.

Michelle took a moment away from dinner preparations to snap the pic.

I loved these kinds of evenings. It does say to make a joyful noise afterall :)

And it certainly WAS a joyful noise. K's grandmother gave her a guitar, but it was a little $30 toy that couldn't be tuned and she recognized right away that it Just Wasn't The Same. I still won't let her play the Taylor, but the Samick does well for her. I'm really looking forward to the day when she makes the connection that how she holds her hands affects the sounds the strings make, and wants to really play. I live for the question, "Daddy, how do I play a GMaj7th with a base B, diminished?"

Well, you just blew my musical training out the window...that's why I'm now the professional audience member :)

Don't feel bad. I have only the vaguest notion of what I just said.
