1. Are you named after anyone? If so, explain.
William Richard Morris. That's me. I was named after William Richard Mutter, my mother's first boyfriend and father's best friend in high school. I met him once, and he was a large, ebullient man; a nice guy to have as a namesake.
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance?
Our daughter was named after my sister, Katherine, and my great aunt Kathryn Ellis, and a shrub: the rose bush that sits outside our dining room windows. Our son was named after Michelle's father, my oldest brother Mike, and takes as his middle name Michelle's maiden name. James-Michael Jimerson. (Michelle will probably write to say it's not hyphenated, but it makes more sense if it is.)
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been?
Elizabeth Ann. My sister was really disappointed I was a boy.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why?
I would change my last name. See #5 for the reason.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/ your name constantly?
It's hard to get "William Morris" wrong, but what I really hate hearing when I introduce myself is, "Oh! Are you with the William Morris agency?" One of those jokes that everyone thinks they're the first person to think of it. The answer I'm simply too polite to offer back, "If I was, why would I be wasting my time with you?"
