mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (hat)

Built an inverness coat for a client in Indiana. He wanted something like a cross between Sherlock Homes and Neo from The Matrix.  I haven't made anything this large since the Henry VIII costume for Danny back in '96.  The customer's a 2XL and wanted the coat extra long with extra fullness across the back.  The coat must weigh at least ten pounds.

Black wool, lined in royal blue bridal satin.  It's a huge piece, but really nice looking.  Soon as we can find the cable for the digital camera so's we can download the pics of'n it, I'll put some photos online.

Anyway, the point is this is a project I've really enjoyed the challenge of, but it's been a chore.  I was a little daunted by the scale of it.  Now it's done, and I'm proud of it.  I can move on to the other projects waiting for me.

Alas, it will probably be gone in the mail before you get to come over, unless you come over tonight or tomorrow. Supposedly the check with final payment has been sent.

Thank you, thank you. I'm going to ask that they take pictures of him wearing it, and I'll put them in my portfolio if/when they arrive.

That will be

a wonderful addition to the portfolio. Looks like there is strong possibilities for you guys to begin to grow this business in to something major.

Is that exciting to you?

I know when I decided to make massage fulltime, I was both terrified and thrilled; and interesting combination to live with.

Wow. I've always wanted that sort of coat. (even if I don't have any reason to wear it...) Just love that look.

Will the pics be on the Seamlyne site when delivered?

This customer ordered it to actually wear as a winter coat, and it's built like a coat you'd buy from, say, Men's Warehouse. I'm hoping to post at least a couple pictures right here in the journal, and if the quality is good enough, yeah, it'll go into the portfolio.
