mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (music at the coffee shop 2)

It's Election Day. I visited the polls on my way to work, voted for no incumbents, voted in every way possible against taxes, voted to keep all the judges - none of home I've ever heard of - behind the bench. I got my sticker and left. In all, it took me ten minutes, and five of that was walking to and from the door. That's the beauty of living in a suburban backwater: I never have to fight lines, pollsters or protesters.

We're planning a quick visit to Nebraska, so I changed the oil on the van last night. There is nothing about that job that makes it not suck. I've gotten pretty good - and quick - at it, but the design of the engine ensures that upon removing the filter a large quantity of oil will get on the frame and then drip onto the driveway for a week thereafter.

Had the trash out early last night, and filled up the curb as much as I dared. Did a lot of cleaning in the garage and costume shop, getting rid of the accumulated detritus of the summer (garage) and Hallowe'en (costume shop.) I'll be pleasantly surprised if everything I put out there is gone when I arrive home. The two pieces I'm most worried about are the gable ends of the old Astral Sea gypsy wagon: they are quite studded with nails where the roof used to be.

While tossing one of the bags onto the pile, I grabbed the bottom of it and cut my index finger rather badly. I must have tossed some glass into the bag. Stupid, really, but now I'm kinda crippled on the left side. If the amount of pain I've inflicted on myself in the last twelve hours is any indicator, I use the inside edge of my finger a lot.

Exciting times, otherwise, here at work. Ford Motor Company is considering a national campaign, using our system for delivering text message offers. If that goes through (probably in January), we will make in one month what our annual revenue was for 2009.

Following on the heels of that, Nissan is waiting for us to come visit. They've seen the success we've had in Michigan and Ohio, and they're taking notice. I'm not much of a praying man, but God, let this be. After ten years, we certainly could use the boost.
