For monitors here at work, I have a 19" 16:9 and 17" 4:3. The two new monitors I bought for the home office are 22" 16:9. My eyes are struggling some to see the little tiny screens here.

It's like my work is far, far away...

With all the construction I did from Friday on, and considering the amount of dust raised by it, my sinuses feel like I have an advanced infection. I've got that broken-glassy feeling above my soft palette, and my voice sounds like Joe Cocker.

Did you get a good deal on the 22's?

I'm really thinking about getting one.

Acer, $139 on clearance at Best Buy. Samsung, $179 at Costco. The 19" I bought a couple of years ago was nearly $300.

Alas for my desire to NOT have a computer monitor so huge it nearly comes to the front of the desk, that's still more than we can swing. :-P

James gave himself a sinus infection just last week, from breathing the dust of reorganizing in the garage and studio. Always happens to him (but that doesn't convince him to stop when he feels it starting), but then, he's prone to sinus infections anyway. His colds almost always turn into them. He's been doing pretty well fighting most of them off without need for antibiotics, though, using medicated nasal spray.

Any word from Vern on the garb-sewing?

I use nothing less than 22"s if I can at all help it. Both [livejournal.com profile] bountifulpots and my main computer have decent Acers. Someday I may dual it here at home too.

You should try going dual. I can't imagine working any other way now.

When I become gainfully re-employed, I'll certainly see what I can do. My desk is a bit cramped in the real-estate department.

I did dual-CRT downstairs, and it only worked because my desk there is a huge corner unit, and there was plenty of depth for it. My desk upstairs is only 24" deep: CRTs would completely overwhelm it.

2nd the Neti pot. We both use it. Feels funky but your nose will appreciate it.
