No? HA!!! Didn't think so, bitches!
We have a new (used) dishwasher thanks to a (not-so) anonymous benefactor. Thank you thank you thank you thank you, a thousand times thank you.
A few challenges hooking it up, but only needed to purchase one part, a new water supply hose because the old one leaked after being disconnected from its previous home. It leaked a lot. Noticeably flooded the garage. Once that was replaced, the leaks were done.
I did something different with this installation: I connected an appliance cord instead of hardwiring the machine into the house electrical, and installed an electrical outlet under the floor (accessible from the bottom of the stairs). Disconnecting the power is now as simple as unplugging the device.
Iz can haz brains, nau. :)
The machine itself needs one repair, a new heating element, without which it will not run an automatic cycle. It uses the heating element to heat the water to [holy-shit-that's-hot] degrees to sanitize the dishes, and without that it just runs and runs and runs waiting for the water to reach the right temperature, which it never does. We just wait for that little light on the front, then cancel the cycle and switch to "Rinse". Works a treat, and in any event is far far better than washing dishes by hand.
That was Sunday.
Saturday was spent traipsing all over Kansas City on various errands, none of which were close to one another. Pensey's, The Re-store (got my door, but the doorknob was a bust. Always carefully check what you're buying!!!), among others.
The Day Job visited the NADA conference this weekend. Preliminary reports are that the experience was positive - we shared a booth with RouteOne, which provided us some credibility. Haven't had the update meeting yet; we're all just catching up and haven't really started our days yet.
