If you could reason with religious people, there would be no religious people.
It's just going to be that kind of day. It's already started.
Some of it is work related, some of it is personal, much is carried over from yesterday when my day spent calmly working from home was repeatedly interrupted by moments of extreme stupidity.
How do you explain an I.T. vendor that doesn't understand I.T.? Particularly those portions of it that are directly related to his job?
I hate "fixing" stuff in my systems to accommodate idiots in theirs.
Generally angry, and have been for a couple weeks now, with nowhere to blow it off.
On the other hand, I've got a project to work on, now. Two actually, one at home and one on video. Home I've already dealt with in this forum (basement stuff, which will continue this weekend). The video project is - and shall remain - hush hush until after its release. Well after.
Re: Sympathize completely
Date: 2009-01-23 17:55 (UTC)Granted, the issue I've been dealing with involved email headers and MIME types, and that's pretty heady stuff, but still. To blame your problems on the header when the text content is correct is pretty lame.
Them: "Content type says 'text', but it's supposed to be XML. Can you fix your system to send XML?"
Me: "What's in the content?"
Them: "Um...looks like XML..."
Me: *headdesk*
Re: Sympathize completely

As for the quote, that pretty much sums up my current attitude about mainstream churches and their activities these days.
Whatever happened to "love thy neighbor as thyself"? No addendums about skin color, gender preferences, etc. (or at least none in the Bible I've been reading). Maybe something got lost in the translation somewhere...
