Monday, and The Big Deadline is passed. That would be the coronation for KCRF With that drop-dead deadline behind us, any and all remaining costume pieces aren't due until site day. Whatever wasn't done, and there was plenty, is moot now. Big sigh of relief, everyone, on three: one...two...three...and...
* siiiiiiiiigh *
The most important bits were done, though: mostly stuff for the royal page, including a bit of embroidery we had to farm out, done miraculously fast. Nice job, Nanette. We'll be sending more business your way.
So, still busy, still a lot on the plate, but at a less frantic pace. We can breathe now; thank you God, for making time linear...at least, mostly.
My biggest pain in the touchous now is a pair of boots, the last pair I will ever make for anyone who isn't me. Try as I might, I've never quite mastered them, and there are plenty of people who have. There's one more thing I can try to make these boots fit right, and if that doesn't work I either refund his money or start over. It'll be one helluva painful refund, but it would be worth it to me not to got through the whole process a second time. Cheaper too. He's waited a long time, though, and I sort of feel like I owe him at least another try.
Damn Responsibili-meter™ is clicking at me.
AND ON TOP OF IT ALL...the washing machine end of the basement is flooded. I can be grateful that the slope of the floor is great enough that the water is localized, but damn! The washing machine drain is backing up, for no reason I can fathom. It's done this once before, and neither I nor the plumbers could find out why. Then it went a year without a problem...now, it's backed up again. Tomorrow, it'll probably be back to normal. Weird. Got to call the plumbers in anyway, just in case.
If they'll return our call. They've got our number memorized.
