Interesting. (lemming right along...)

The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

What is your favorite love song? Why?

We would need to begin defining what a "love" song is. If it's a song that makes me feel all warm and gooshy inside, then I'm afraid you're out of luck: there really aren't any of those. Songs where the singer expresses his (or her) undying devotion to some other person just don't do it for me. I know that there has to be at least one song out there that hits me emotionally...lemme think about it.

What's the last song you wrote? When? If it's been a while, why? (Yeah, I know. But they're all related.)

Well, besides stuff for the movie, that would be a song called "White Hills of Home". I wrote the lyrics several years ago - somewhere around 1997 or so - and put a tune to it that I was never happy with. Sometime in 2001 or so I changed it to a more upbeat folkish sounding bit, and made it a part of my regular reperat -- repertwa--- list of songs.

Writing music has never been easy for me. I can come up with a "hook", maybe a few lines that I really like, but it never seems to gel into one cohesive singable song. That takes concentration, a stress level far lower than I've lived with for a long time. I'm not very good at the mechanics: the songs you've heard and loved have been the products of inspiration.

I got an email from mjm asking me to email you guys about your trip to NE. I got to it late as I was sick. If you're already in NE, I'm so sorry I missed helping you. If it's not too late, I sent her my phone number. Wishing you the best either way.

Hello bonnyann, not to worry! Through everything that's gone on, I've reconnected with some cousins I was out of touch with, and we've had a wonderful visit. Thank you for your kindness and your offer, it was much appreciated.
