If you follow Michelle's blog at all, you will know that our orange tabby, Tigger, appears to have been in his final days with us. Christmas Eve his breathing was audible with every inhale, and he would sit with his head against the space heater in the back, not moving, eating little. He couldn't even purr, though he tried.

We fully expected to wake up Christmas morning to find him somewhere under a bed, gone or nearly so.

This morning he's in my lap, purring and drooling and rubbing his head on any part of me within reach. If I leave him alone long enough, I imagine he'll fall asleep sitting up while I type on some stuff for work.

In other words, more or less back to normal.

So we get to keep our friend a little while longer.

I almost wish this was real.

Nothing like waiting on your NLE1 to render an hour and ten minutes worth of video with a single, green screen layer (a timecode in the lower right hand corner).

Three hours, sixteen minutes elapsed. Four hours, twenty five minutes to go. Thankfully there's no stiff deadline on this, though the guy's been waiting a couple weeks for it. I'll give him the footage with the timecode on DVD, he'll make notes ("I like the thing you're doing at 00,05,16,29..." for instance), ship it back to me for a rough cut.

At 23:45 with the kids getting up routinely at 7:00, I'm not waiting around for it to finish. I'm going to bed.

Edit: 8:38, Sunday morning. 12:10:00 elapsed, 2:39:00 to go.

Damn.
