If you're a regular reader of my journal, you will have read about the Main Street Coffehouse where I have played from time to time, and where
aerie13 joined me for my concert last year. The picture/icon on this post was taken there. Got the setting? Good.
On November 12th, a small gas leak turned into a big fire and burned the place bad enough to close it for repairs for the foreseeable future. The Moddrells - David and Karen, who own the shop - lose the largest part of their income while the shop is closed.
On Friday night, December 8th, there will be a free concert to benefit the shop and the Moddrells, with donations accepted to help see them through the holidays until the shop opens again. I'll be performing, and so will aerie13. The concert will be held in the Family Life Center (the gym) at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E 39th St., Independence, Missouri, at 7:00p.m.
Directions and a map can be found at

We've had some very enthusiastic responses from the MSCH music community. I can't remember everyone who's going to be there, but the ones I can:
Me. Celtic, American folk
aerie13, blues/jazz/pop (plz don't be mad at me, Lezlie, if I fucked that up)
Ruth Ward, an incredible blues musician, some pop
Paula Sorensen, blues/pop
Nile Mile Burn, Celtic
About half-a-dozen others I can't remember, since Michelle's doing most of the booking.
If you can't go but would like to donate, make the checks payable to me, and I'll cash them and give them to the Moddrells (they just live a few blocks from me). Drop me an email at billTheTailor at seamlyne dot com for my actual mailing address.
Hope to see you there!
