One big project done...
Mar. 8th, 2006 08:47Built an inverness coat for a client in Indiana. He wanted something like a cross between Sherlock Homes and Neo from The Matrix. I haven't made anything this large since the Henry VIII costume for Danny back in '96. The customer's a 2XL and wanted the coat extra long with extra fullness across the back. The coat must weigh at least ten pounds.
Black wool, lined in royal blue bridal satin. It's a huge piece, but really nice looking. Soon as we can find the cable for the digital camera so's we can download the pics of'n it, I'll put some photos online.
Anyway, the point is this is a project I've really enjoyed the challenge of, but it's been a chore. I was a little daunted by the scale of it. Now it's done, and I'm proud of it. I can move on to the other projects waiting for me.
