I've thought that social lending would be a good socially responsible/community interactive thing to do at some point. Prosper appears to be effectively closed for now while they await some regulatory processes that may take months (as in apparently they're neither taking new member/lenders or actually processing new loans through the member/lender system.) Which is kind of a bummer.
