My father-in-law's 60th birthday party was Saturday. My MIL, true to form, decorated the house with tombstones, morgue signs, black balloons, etc etc etc. The buffet was your basic party foods, the buckets of maguarita and daquari pulled from the freezer. Lots of neighbors came by, a friend from London who flew in for a visit, even the Mercer twins.
About midway through the afternoon, I went looking for my children to touch base. Jami was tear-assin' around the house with the neighbor boy. Katie, now seven years old, was sitting at the bar pouring someone a diet coke.
She finished pouring the drink, set the bottle down, and directed the recipient's attention with a pointed finger and a meaningful look...
At her tip jar.

Date: 2008-01-21 02:32 (UTC)BTW, I've been meaning to call you guys, via Michelle, to check in and see how you've all been doing. I just haven't known when a good time would be, or bad time, or whatever. That, and life has been...life. Yeah. You'll note there are other things I haven't had a chance to do yet, either. Blahhh.

Date: 2008-01-21 20:07 (UTC)If you like the drink, a $2.00 tip is customary. If you don't like the drink a $20.00 tip should be sufficient to ensure that any deficiencies are not propagated.
