Actually avoided a sunburn this weekend, and not by sitting on my ass in front of the electronics for forty-eight hours. Most of the work I needed to do was in the backyard, which is shaded in the morning and afternoon - the hottest hours of the day I worked inside or ran errands. Got the hobbit door mostly done: pictures are available here:

Still needs hardware, but the thought is there. Today, I start a new project at work, some programming stuff I've never tried before; the challenge will make it interesting.

Good start to the week.

Nope! It doesn't even open.* M and I have talked about putting hinges and a handle on it, and having an artist friend of ours paint a scene on the boards behind it; that'd be fun I think.

The idea of placing a plaster garden gnome on the stop step was forwarded and rejected, just to save everyone the trouble of asking.

* My neighbor is two folding chairs, a tablecloth, and a box of plastic spoons shy of a picnic; the fence is there to block the neighboring property off. We have hopes of one day buying that lot and tearing everything down to expand Northward, but in the meantime, the fence is, and remains, a barrier.
