I've always thought that was the dumbest of journalistic questions, since the media folks rarely cover any event where the emotional state isn't absolutely obvious. What do they expect?-"Our beautiful daughter was murdered so we'll just be partying our butts off!" numbnuts!!!! If I were a reporter covering the Kelsey Smith murder, I think I would try to avoid the question "What's the family's emotional state?" Jeezus H.Kee-rist! "Oh, they're distraught? No fucking shit?"
