mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (Raleighbird)
[personal profile] mapsedge
I like our bed. A lot. It's a Stearns & Foster King Plush Pillowtop so thick that it requires half-thickness box springs. It's on risers to allow storage underneath, so tall that when you get out of bed in the morning and put your feet on the floor, you're already standing.

Plus, we repainted our bedroom, and added a firm plush carpet. With the bedside lamps on, and a large matching quilt on the bed, it's an inviting space: soft, warm...a nice womb...er...room.

Never moreso than at 1:00 in the morning, when Michelle and I got home from the final day at White Hart.

I've made many new friends...Heather, Mark, Stasi, Chris, Erin, Kerri, Julia, and so many others. Not an easy thing for me, but shared misery helps. :)

I've not attempted to chronicle the experience, and probably won't. Others have done a far better job than I have the brain time to accomplish. There are particular incidents, though, some directly related to White Hart and others merely peripheral, whose stories will be told at some point, of that I have no doubt. Probably not today.

Call this, then, just a general checking-in, possibly a preview of things to come.

  • We're home safe.

  • Three weekends is just about right for me.

  • Julia is an amicable travelling companion, a little hard to get to know but well worth the effort.

  • No more custom sewing where KCRF is involved. Probably, no more custom sewing at all unless the client is rich, or I have a strong desire to see that person in skivvies.

  • Re-evaluating one's daytime occupation is heavy shit, especially when there are no reserves in the bank, and your wife believes in you enough not to care
