In Martin's defense (and every other e.d. of every Peterson faire) a lot of the rules he laid out there that were so ridiculous to those of us in the lanes were foisted on him by Higher (though without doubt NOT greater) Powers.
It's one reason I'm looking forward to White Hart. It seems like the organizers are trying to make the effort to move away from the Disneyfication of ren faires, back to when you could do stuff like that.
