mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (hat)
[personal profile] mapsedge
Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] sacristan...

What were you doing ten years ago?

Lessee, that'd be 1996. I was working for Best Solutions, Inc., as a Visual Basic programmer for hire. [livejournal.com profile] mljm and I had been married for three years.

Five snacks you enjoy:

  1. Cheetos Crunchy.

  2. Popcorn, especially the half-popped, dense little asteroids at the bottom.

  3. Take-5 Bars. Are those Hersheys? Not sure...

  4. Pita bread and hummus.

  5. Chex Mix.

Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:

Only five..? The challenger here isn't finding them, the challenge is making it interesting.

  1. Sweet Baby James, James Taylor.

  2. Tae the Beggin', Traditional.

  3. Three Fishers, Nathan Rogers.

  4. White Hills of Home, William Morris.

  5. The Boxer, just about everybody, but I like the version James Taylor and Alison Krauss recorded.

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:

  1. Change my phone number

  2. Put an attorney and bodyguard on retainer

  3. Wait...

I assume by this question that what we're actually asking is "What would you do if you had enough money to make the choices you want to make?" Okay...

  1. Buy the lot to the North of our present lot, then hire an architectural firm and design/build my dream home.
    - or -
Buy five acres or so on the edge of town, then hire said architectural firm...

  2. Buy for my family that lifetime vacation package Disney's offering now - sort of like a season passport, but good for a vacation a year until you die.

  3. Stop working at my present job and consult on my own, secure in the knowledge that I had time and resources to do so.

  4. Buy [livejournal.com profile] mljm a proper engagement ring, and a mother's ring.

  5. Hire someone to do the work on the house that needs doing, although if I've managed to build a new place, much of that won't be needed anymore. Hire out the landscaping, then.

Five things you like doing:

  1. Working with my hands. That could be wood, fabric, another person...

  2. Making music, though I'm not as good as I'd like to be.

  3. Relaxing in the backyard watching my kids play.

  4. Cooking, though I've learned to limit my experimentations to when I don't have guests. Iron Chef I'm not.

  5. Working ren faires when the weather is cool, so, like, two weekends out of the year.

Five things you would never wear again:

Oooh, that's a toughie. My wardrobe has largely been limited to jeans and t-shirts my whole life. I'll try though.

  1. A polyester blazer.

  2. A sweatshirt with shit dangling off of it. (Story, not terribly interesting, for another time)

  3. Socks taller than my ankles for anything but boots or dress.

  4. A 100% polyester or acetate shirt. (Weekend 1, Council Bluffs Ren Faire, wayyyy back when)

  5. Anything with a corporate logo on it. If someone wants me to be their whor--- 'scuse me, billboard, they can pay me.

Five favourite toys:

Another toughie. Don't have many "toys"...lots of TOOLS, but not many toys.

  1. Roland XP80 MIDI Workstation

  2. 2002 Taylor 510LE 6-string accoustic guitar, with Martin Goldline pickup

  3. Brother N210 Commercial Serger (4000spm)

We'll leave it at that.
