Post performance update

When I got the CD done, I was burned out or, perhaps more appropriately, "brunt oot". I couldn't bring myself to pick up the guitar for more than a week. I'd intended to practice some today but ended up gone from the house for most of it. It showed in the music tonight - I made all the mistakes that I'd gotten over with regular performance, though by and large I think the show went well. The generosity of my audience never fails to humble me. I sold all but one of my CDs, and the tip jar was still well fed.

The other negative from the week's hiatus is that my hands are extremely sore. I'm not one of those musicians who makes a point of bragging on his callouses - dude, check this out, it's like fretting with rhinoceros tusk - but they do help. I need to work them back up.

So, tired and happy, I retire for the night.
