I discovered that little bar too, and wondered what the heck was it for. I figure it's just one more way of protecting ourselves from ourselves.
My milestone came from my nephew. Not having a child of my own, I had the pleasure of raising my nephew from 2 weeks until he was 6. One day we were out driving around... he must have been about 4 or 5, and he asked the perennial question, "Why is the sky blue?"
I do believe on that day, I attained the badge of daddy.
