How not to impress your boss

It's no secret I'm not a sports nut.  I follow football only on Sunday afternoons because it makes me feel nostalgic, but that's about it. However, let me assure you that  I pay attention to the news and have a fair idea of what's going on generally in the sports world.

CFO shows up to work to day in a black and gold polo with a tiger at the breast, and a gold baseball cap with a tiger on the front. While waiting for my breakfast burrito to heat up, I glance in his office. "Wow," I say, "Couldn't help but notice your amazingly collegiate wardrobe today."

He takes a few moments to process all of the three-syllable-plus words and figure out what they mean, and says, "Yeah, alumni's playing today."

"Well," I say, preparing to retreat to my office, "I hope they get lots of runs."

Hah!

I bet someone on their team gets struck out at some point. Or they make a hole-in-one. Or score under par. Or something like that.

What sports season is it again? It's not already time for the Kentucky Derby, is it?

double whammy

"alumni's playing today"

ADMITTING he is a college graduate, and STILL unable to understand complicated words or anything but the simplist concepts

Indictment of our educational system

Having just printed out a team bracket for Rob and asked "so why does one want a bracket in the first place", to which he replied "just to see if I'm right about who'll win", I will never catch on to the appeal.

It's more fun watching his reaction to a missed basket than anything else. :D
