mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (Default)

Coffee geek: ran out of espresso grind over the weekend, neglected to make more and didn't have time this morning, so I substituted regular ol' varietal Columbian. Not bad...kind of a caramel-y taste. A rather pleasant change but I'll be happy to go back to the Roasterie's Seattle Style Espresso.

The final shotVideo geek: There has GOT to be a better way to do traveling mattes than frame by frame adjustment of a half-dozen control points per matte. Granted, for the most part I can do every third frame and let AfterEffects do the rest, but with four separate regions to be masked it's still taking forever. About a half-hour per second of footage. It's a 30 second sequence with four regions...I make that to be 60 hours. If I was working hourly for myself that'd run to about $4800...since I'm not, there's got to be a better way.

Audio Geek: recoding some audio tonight for a local production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown". Part of the assignment was to find airplane fly-bys and machine guns, plus music for when Snoopy is bemoaning Charlie Brown's absence. I chose "Remembrances", Itzak Perlman from the "Schindler's List" soundtrack.

Flyby with machine guns. A combination of two different sound effects, tempo-adjusted, with reverb and bass boost (if you listen, turn down your volume!). For a really surreal experience, let Remembrances play for ten seconds or so, then hit the flyby.

Remembrances, Itzak Perlman
