Three positives: Day five
Sep. 13th, 2014 15:40I considered cheating and doing the first one as three individual items and making it easy, but nah. I'll try to be honest.
1. New kitchen faucet; re-hung the railing on the steps to the basement; bought a new tool, a hand power planer for shaving the bedroom door so it will fit in the jamb without sticking. It's a pain in the butt to open and close when it's humid and sticky, and I suck at hand-planing. Productivity without sewing. Yes, it can be done.
2. Got to spend about two hours just running around Independence alone, listening to books on tape, windows down, beautiful weather. ReStore; DAV thrift store; Gutiar Center; that new understocked music store on the Square; Home Depot.
3. Jami's on a sleepover at a friend's house in the neighborhood. It's a first for him, and a real blessing to finally have other boys his age in the neighborhood. No idea if he'll last the night, but it's not far if he gets homesick, a two minute walk at most. Less than that if I hop the back fence.
