FB/LJ linking

Xposted as a potential fix until LJ powers that be remove the damn buttons themselves
To get rid of the twitter/facebook repost links in your journal entry comments do the following:
1. Go to your "Journal" menu, and select "Journal Style"
2. To the right, you'll see what theme you're using, with a link stating "Customize Your Theme". Click that link.
3. Scroll down a little ways, and you'll see that on the left side of your screen, you have multiple options to modify your theme. Click on the "Custom CSS" link, and it should load the options for doing Custom CSS.
4. From here, all you have to do is go to the "Custom Stylesheet", and put in that line.
.b-repost-item {display:none}
Once that's in there, you want to save the changes, and you should be done. Leave everything else as it is (unless you want to remove more things!).
--------------------------------
As has been noted already, this merely hides the button: a journal with crossposting set to "automatic" will still do so.
Now, that said, assuming one pursues this "fix", when I view my friends page, including comments, I view it in the stylesheet defined by my journal. If I don't have that style defined in the CSS, does this workaround actually work?
For the record, Dreamwidth did email me back regarding crosslinking, and their team assures me that while they intend to support crosslinking to a variety of sites, they plan to block it for posts that are locked or private. I can only imagine (hope) that the LJ crew will do the same, considering the negative attention the issue is getting.
