Another good, full weekend

Friday, a much needed evening out without the children. We ended up in a mild fight before the night was over, but (and this is the only reason I would publicly admit a fight with my spouse*) we got some long standing issues worked out and I learned a few things I can apply long term that will help all concerned.

Note to the media: A tornado does not "decimate", it "destroys." You cannot decimate A Thing. Decimate refers to "killing," in strict usage a tenth of a population (deci- = tenth part), though it is commonly accepted when referring to the killing of any large proportion of a group.
While we're here, "less" refers to quantity of a single thing or grouping of things, "fewer" refers to a quantity of multiple things, e.g. We have less liquid and so take fewer drinks. SyFy: it should be "More TV...fewer commercials."
I see no reason to expect immigrants to this country to speak English, when most of our media can't.

Arthritis sucks. It especially sucks in my right hip just now. While working about the house this weekend, I kept finding places where the garage floor...or the deck steps...or the basement steps landing...were slick, and the constant slipping and correction took their toll. At one point coming up the steps to the deck, my foot slipped and I ended up nearly doing the splits - my right hip is hurting bad enough I had Michelle renew a prescription; I hate taking anything more than ibuprofen but it radiates all the way down into my shins. I'm still not convinced I want a prednisone shot.

Got Katie's bedroom door replaced - it matches Jami's now. Next: the doors on our bedroom and the bathroom. Then: trim and finish the hallway. May have a source for the last two doors for free. Fingers crossed there.

I have two songs to finish recording for the CD. I need to move my base of operations to another building to get a consistently quiet place to record...wait, I don't have another building. Oh, so that's why this project is taking so long. Once those two songs are in the can so to speak, then it's down to mastering.

There's been some noise from a company on the East coast about buying Seritas. What that will mean for me and my day-to-day I have no idea, but they are a bit larger than we are and could potentially raise salary and benefits, and that would be a huge help. I'll wait till I see a check before passing any sort of judgment.
* Michelle and I both have a policy that we do not "air our dirty laundry" (as my mother used to say) in a public/online forum. Note, above, the lack of details and the positive resolution. That's a airy as it gets.
