Monday update
May. 4th, 2009 11:29As of now, 11:30, fighting a savage headache, what feels like a combination tension (neck pain) and migraine (light sensitivity, nausea). I've taken two ibuprofen and two Excedrine Migraine. I'm not totally incapacitated yet, and hoping to keep it that way.
It was a good weekend, all told, though on a personal level it started rocky. Once all that got worked out, things progressed well. I just accepted that there will be parts of the walls in the side porch entryway that aren't going to look exactly right without a lot of tear-out and re-working, so the whole is now primed, ready for painting and trim.
I installed some more trim in the dining room, along the ceiling to mate the walls to the ceiling. When I add two more trim pieces on each end - angled filler strips to mate the ceiling to the angle down into the walls - the ceiling trim portion will be done. Still need to trim out the arch and replace the door to the basement/side porch.
Another weekend gone, and no work done in the yard and no start on the gardens: no money, and it's been so wet the tiller would sink to the axles and do no good if I did get out.
I have a plan for the vegetable gardens. I plan to box in several plots of tilled soil, I just need the yard to dry up some so I can safely run the tiller. No, I'm not going to hoe by hand, though if you, dear reader, are looking for something to do, I do have a hoe you can borrow.
Clover, chickweed, and yard violets are taking over the rest of the lawn, especially where there's been work in the past the trampled the grass, like at the old fence line, or near the deck. Eventually, I'll spray for them and re-seed after the die-off.
Progress in small steps is still progress.
