...looking at my LiveJournal, and it occurs to me that the moniker "billTheTailor" isn't exactly accurate anymore. As of 23:59:59, December 31st, 2007, Seamlyne Reproductions is going away as a retail entity, I'm selling my machines, and I'm reorganizing my shop into a media studio. Tailor? Not no more. Nuh-uh.

"If you decide to buy this CD, wait patiently by the mail box till it arrives. Upon arrival, quickly open the box, then pull the security tape from the jewel case. Open the jewel case and place the CD in one hand. Break the CD in half, then slit your wrists with the remaining shards. As you begin to die look at your reflection in the mirror-like surface of the broken CD, and ask your self what you were thinking when you ordered this CD!"

From Amazon.com review of "Vanilla Ice: Greatest Hits".

And before you ask, NO, I wasn't shopping for a Vanilla Ice cd.  This was featured in a news article, so shaddupalready.

mapsedge: Me at Stone Bridge Coffee House (Titanic)
I'm in my office downstairs, doing some last minute-before-bedtime video work, applying some image processing to a bit of footage and set the rendering engine to going.  To render seven minutes of footage with a simple gradient color overlay to warm the image will take about four hours.  Set it and forget it, I say.

I know it's icing outside, and while I'm not happy about it, I'm not fearful as I was in years past.  In 2002, our elm and one oak tree were completely destroyed, taking our power lines with.  I stood and watched as a limb crashed down on our neighbors power line and ripped it from their house, causing a brilliant cascade of sparks and fire from their meter.

Not this year, though, I don't have that worry.  The elm and the oak are gone.  When we bought this house and re-worked the electrical, we had the power line buried.  The connection from street to house is safe.

If we lose power, it will be because of what's down the road, and it will be no direct threat to our home.  That's a relief.
