Thursday morning...

As I'm leaving the house this morning, halfway down our seventy-five foot driveway going to my car...

B A N G ! ! !

From inside the house, through the dining room window Michelle calls, "Did you hear that?"

Yelling back, "Yep!"

"What was it?"

"Loud."

"We lost power."

I look at the sunrise.  "We did?  You gonna be okay?"

"Yeah.  I'll call the city."

"Okay, bye!"


Whatever it was, it wasn't the long, whiny death of a transformer...I'm thinking maybe it was a pole fuse.  About the size of a foot-long hot dog, I happened to see one blow up from maybe twenty feet away several years ago, and it sounded like that, just closer and louder.

Wonder if the power's back on yet?

Movie Diaries

I wish this was some cynical, humorous post about That Movie, but it's not.

One of our cast members, Rick Urdiales, was murdered last Sunday.

I spent only a single day with the man, but in that time he showed himself as a gentle, caring soul and terrific actor. 

I'm not sure how to feel.
