A different Saturday morning
Jul. 29th, 2006 12:17We took Katie fishing this morning. This was her first such outing, and she took to it with great enthusiasm. We fished in a private pond we learned about from one of my costuming customers, the queen's page. The fish were biting...and biting...and biting. Agressive little things...sunfish and bluegill. Too small to eat, but still enough to yank the clutch on my reel a few times trying to reel my one in.
We purchased nightcrawlers, but most had died yesterday and a dead worm - at least one that's been dead for a day - shreds off the hook and as such isn't worth a damn as fish bait. Next time, I'll dig up my own.

Final tally: Katie, 4; Daddy, 1.
