Battle Skull is OV-AHhhh!
Apr. 8th, 2006 09:23Apologies to Fukui-san.
With a tip from Beth Reardon I found a new skull for Solace, from a medical supply house. In my search I found plenty of skulls, but they were either too small (resin castings for statuettes) or too expensive (4 piece skull with 8 piece removable brain) or otherwise unsuitable (I don't speak Hindi).
I did find some humor in the story though. The first place I ordered from, presumably a medical supply house (who told me after the fact that they didn't have any skulls left), used a Yahoo! store as their shopping cart. This is a place where you can order just about anything having to do with classroom in struction on anatomy, from the "Visible Man" (and woman) plastic models, to a life size fibreglass human torso with every internal organ including, in the case of the female, the entire internal reproductive system.
At the end of the checkout process, it asks if I want gift wrapping.
Ultimately, I cancelled that order (I don't have time for them to get a skull in stock) and found it at anatomical.com. Go figure.
