Changes they are a-comin'...

I knew it when I walked out the door this morning. I stepped onto my deck, and walked the flower gauntlet - breathed in the heady aroma of Moonflowers, clymatis; the loamy smell of Mexican heather and impatiens. I felt it in the air against my bare legs and arms, tickling past my nose and into my lungs.

It's the change in the weather that sends the unmistakable message to the trees, "It's time to let go." Soon, a matter of a few weeks, my lawn will be carpeted with leaves, I'll be wearing flannel shirts and sitting on the deck with my wife and children, winding the evening down into night in front of our outdoor fireplace.

The back gate is open. Anyone up for coffee/tea/hot chocolate in front of an outdoor fire?

I woke up early this AM and felt the shift. It's as if equinox hit early. I'm ready for snuggling up with a ton of good books, a supply of teas and jumping head on into hibernation...and before that...I would join you to welcome in the autumn~
