Upcoming concert dates...

November 3rd, 7:00-9:00pm.  Main Street Coffehouse, Independence, Missouri.

February 9th, time TBA (tentative)  Missouri Valley Folklife Society Concert, Community Christian Church on the Plaza.

So, there you go.  The MVFS concert is for Scots and Breton music, so I'm going to have to learn some new stuff.  Sources anyone?

Just realized that I never sent you the stuff on O'Flaherty's....

That'd be a good resource to find new stuff.

Scottish:

Books
"Bothy Songs and Ballads", John Ord -- a lot of good, unmined material there.

Recordings
For your style, I'd suggest listening to some Dougie MacLean, Jim Malcolm (solo preferred, but Old Blind Dogs after he joined would be acceptable), Jock Tamson's Bairns, Ossian or Tony Cuffe solo, Smalltalk.

You might dig into some Alan Stivell or Tri-Yann for the Breton.

But you'll need percussion, me heartie.

Best percussion I can manage is drumming on the dog while she's asleep, and they won't let her in the coffee shop in any case.

Awesome!
