Flu Watch: Day 5

H1N1, confirmation from the kid's pediatrician. I'm past it, I think, feeling now like I've got a terrible head cold. Katie's suffering from it like I did, irritable, to be sure, a light fever, miserable but not down.

Jami, on the other hand, poor little guy, is spiking a fever above 103°. He's got the chills and shakes. He threw up this morning, but not since so far as I know. I got him out of the bath a few minutes ago, trying to cool his body. Washing his hair was painful for him. It breaks the heart.

The true worry is that he'll get hit harder. Flu is, after all, a respiratory attack, and his respiratory system is compromised because of the pectus. We're watching him closely.

Is there ANYTHING we can do to help?

In all honestly were we are having trouble is in the household area. I'm behind on laundry, dishes, making dinner things. I'm not feeling well tonight and I'm praying that it's just tired and worry rather than coming down sick myself.

What would really help is dinner some night that's ready to serve (or at least something easy to heat up) and a couple of 2-liters of 7-up (that's the only carbonated beverage Katie can drink and the rest of the fam drinks it too). Maybe there is something else we're running out of, but I can't think of anything right now.

I could use a good cry too. We've got about 2 hours (it's 6pm now) before the ibuprofen wears off and Jami's temp spikes again and we go through an hour of hell before he's comfortable again. Off to work on the kitchen and get some food ready for tonight.

We are making you some food and doing a drive-by today/tonight with food and 7-up. What do we have to remember about food issues?

So much love for you!!
