No pressure or anything...

So, my partner tells me, "I'm going to shield you from as much of the trivial stuff as I can for the couple of weeks. Our client isn't slowing down, and they've approved a lot of money. This is going to be the best month ever for our company..."

"Sounds good," I reply. We could use it.

He nods, ignores the interruption. "...and it rests mostly on your shoulders since most of what the client wants is front end, interface stuff."

Captain, the engines can't take much more! The ship'll tear itself apart!

Like Scotty, I've taken to multiplying all of my estimates by a factor of four. It's just better that way.

I double all time estimates as a matter of course these days. This is more in my personal life than business, but still...
