Well, isn't that interesting (Comcast STILL sucks)...

Can you say "ethics?"  Goooood...because Comcast can't.

Not long after I posted my rant about Comcast, I get a message in my LJ Inbox from [livejournal.com profile] comcastcares1 .  It reads:

I am sorry to learn that you are switching to a different provider.

I work for Comcast and I would to help
[sic]. We would like to retain you as a Comcast customer. I can check with my contacts if we have any discount promotion that you may be eligible for. If you are interested in my assistance, please feel free to send me the phone number asociated [sic] with the account.

Thanks!

Mark C.

No kidding?  So Comcast has a troll searching LJ entries for the word "Comcast"...bad company!  Bad bad bad!  No stock options for you!  Boo on you!  Boooooooo...  Booooooo on Comcast.

It's so transparent I can hardly believe it happened.  I mean, come on!  Do we have the president of the high school community outreach glee club in charge of customer retention at Comcast?

Tell you what, Comcast Troll: have your company do what your representatives say it'll do, then we'll talk.  Until then, all the Comcast promotional offers in the world won't lure me back to Comcast.

(By the way, gentle reader, if you're wondering why I used the word Comcast so often in this post, wonder no more: I'm just feeding the troll.    *ahem*  COMCAST SUCKS.  See?  It likes that.  It will come to that.  It will want me to like it.  It wants to be my friend and send me messages.  COMCAST SUCKS A LOT.  Come closer little Comcast-sucks Troll...come on...there's a good Troll...)

I heard something on NPR the other day about companies listening for tweets on Twitter with their names in it and trying to do "customer service" that way. In fact, I believe that the example in the story was Comcast.

I'm usually annoyed by what passes as customer service these days, anyway -- we walked out of a Best Buy yesterday because we couldn't shop in peace. In the course of 5 minutes 7 different floor dweebs came by to pester us in the name of "customer service."

It's no wonder that internet shopping is thriving. I, for one, don't miss the "one-on-one human interaction that only a brick and mortar store can provide", particularly when that interaction is, by and large, a hindrance.

I don't believe there is customer service anymore...what passes for it just annoys me no end.

Well, try posting "Mediacom sucks!" to your LJ and see what happens...

OOOPS...I guess I just did it. :)
