Wednesday update

We've a new secretary here at the office. She looks a bit like Marla Hooch from League of The Own, though with better hair. She has a similar sense of humor to mine and can "Yes, and..." like a ren faire veteran, so I wonder if maybe CFO is starting to regret his hiring choice. Har.

Jami is sick with a cough that Just Won't Go Away. Michelle has him at the doctor this very minute, the third or fourth visit in as many weeks. We've gone through treatment Plan A, moved to Plan B, now we need to know if there's a Plan C. Doctor bills - as you might imagine - are killing us.

He also had a bout with a stomach bug that had him throwing-up sick last Friday - Katie's seventh birthday, as it happens. His grandfather came and stayed with him while Michelle took Katie to ChuckECheese's. With her cousins in attendance, she didn't notice her brother's absence. He bounced back from it in a day, though he shared it with his grandfather, his aunt, and eventually with me.

Interesting that this bug manifested so differently in each of us. For me, it hit my joints: most of Monday and half of Tuesday I felt like I'd been in a car wreck. Today, more or less back to normal, I'm just sleepy.

Watched Cars last night with friends, and had a good time. Movie nights have become rather sedate affairs; cinema, baked goods, quiet company. It was a nice break, though I'll probably have to put a moratorium on them for a month or two. I have a feeling the day job is going to hit hard for a while.

I'll make a separate posting just to make the point, but if anyone should come across any paying work - computer, video, whatever - that they could shoot my way, we'd be very thankful. For the first time in a long time, we're going to have a month where there are more bills coming in than money, so we're looking for shovels.

A reference to the idea that we've never been handed a silver spoon, but are more than willing to pick up a dirty shovel.

We will gladly pay you for the reel to reel work, just let me know what you're charging per hour or tape or project or whatever...:D

Let me get with The Boss and see what our schedule looks like, and we'll get together for {insert drink of choice here} with your dad and work out the details.

Deal!

Do you have the ability to convert 8mm (I think) video tape to DVD? We have some family event tapes that are so old they won't work on the new video cameras. I'd like to convert them to DVD.

I believe so, though I'd need to see the tape. I have access to a Super-8 video camera, but there are three or four tape formats. Let's arrange a time to get together, m'kay?

Deal. I'm arranging dinner with your other half for 10 days from now. If not before, we can visit about it then.
