Update for September 24
WORK
I really didn't get a weekend, which is why I didn't call this "Weekend Update". As our company has continued to grow - we're down to 6 above break-even - I have become the bottleneck for progress. My to-do list is full to overflowing so I put in about sixteen hours over Saturday and Sunday, on track to be ready for a demo tomorrow morning. I'll make it, but I was locked in my basement for the two days I should have been resting with my family.
Yes, once we make more money we can hire someone to help with all that, but against that eventuality I'm writing infrastructure to make using our tools easier. Of course, that will also make the DIYers among our customers happy, too.
HOME
Still there at last check. Michelle is fighting the season-transition throat/chest thing we all get every year. I've avoided it so far, but given my stress level it's only a matter of time.
Shiner's health is declining, and the cost of vet bills is rising with no fixes in sight, just a few ideas of what might be wrong and how to make her better. I'm not convinced. The veterinarians are just guessing now, since every other "allergy" treatment they've tried has done fuck all to improve her condition and quality of life. Each summer it gets worse, and the pattern is easy to see.
Fair warning: when the cost of the bills becomes greater than the cost of food for my children, I'll have Shiner put down. It breaks my heart to finally say it.
HOBBIES / SIDE ITEMS / CONDIMENTS
The Cannon wedding video is almost done! I just have to export the completed AVIs and start burning DVDs. When it's ready to go I'll let Susi and Bruce know (and, of course, post it here) along with a link to my webpage where they'll be made available.
Back to work, slacker.
