Making promises to clients
Looks to be an interesting day.
Woke up with a savage headache. Mostly gone now, but still dealing with residuals, hoping that staring at the monitor won't encourage it to fire up the party again.
Maybe if I drink my latté it will go away. Yeah, we'll try that.
So, DataGuy makes a couple of suicidally optimistic promises to one of our largest clients who's already pissed off at us, now he's in panic mode because ***surprise*** the work isn't done. I could have only met his deadlines if nothing else crossed my desk, and of course I have several "emergencies" cross my desk every day - many of which are his to begin with.
*sigh* We'll only be a day behind the last promise he made when we were three days behind the promise he made when we were two weeks behind.
