A rocky start, but a good finish
For the first time since the termite incident, the North end of the house is fully sided. Now it needs to be scraped and painted.
Ladder jacks are probably the best tool I've bought in a long while. The warning label on the side says "Do not use on ladders rated for 200 pounds", which, incidentally, is precisely the rating for both ladders I'm using. A little shaky, true, but by God the siding's done. Couldn't have done it with ladders alone.
Cordless power tools, specifically this one and this one, are the second best tools I've bought in a long while. Especially nice when you're working ten feet off the ground and don't feel like dancing with extension cords.
I'm hoping to get the back wall of the house sided this weekend, but the forecast is wet. Fingers are crossed. Maybe in pieces in the evening.
Got a new computer monitor for the laptop, so now I can work upstairs when the Day Job follows me home. That'll be nice. Now we need a desk and a comfy chair.
Planning to buy a new PC (used, but new to us) for upstairs that can serve as a workstation and play box. $150 ought to do it.
Jami slept in, God bless him. He didn't get up till almost 7:30, which means the sun and birds woke me, and we were able to laze about in bed for a while before starting our brains. Mine almost always floods and won't start even after several pulls on the cord, and when it finally does it's all smokey. Not today, though.
Don't know what my week holds, but I'm praying for a little less work stress than last week. Ha!
