Just an observation

Hand sanitizers, those nifty gelled alcohol concoctions with gentle scent and moisturizers that come in those oh-so-handy push-top dispensers are one of the better inventions of the late 20th century...

...until you forget that you banged your hand on the underside of the kitchen cabinets last night while making tea and got this little scratch neatly between your thumb and index finger. THEN the invention loses some of its lustre in the stinging that goes on and on and on thanks to those moisturizers.

There's nothing quite like the realization that you've basically poured alcohol on a cut... I've done the same thing with that stuff, W.

Hospital-grade antibacterial soap does much the same thing. And it even has lotion in it.
