November concert: after
The concert played to a small house. I made the mistake of selecting a wooden stool to sit on, and spent most of the night using my legs to keep myself from sliding off. They're still sore today. My voice was tired after the first set and my range isn't as great as it used to be. I was pretty disappointed with myself, though the few people that were there appeared to notice. I'm going to have to find new arrangements or new ways to play at least half the songs in my list to accommodate how low my voice won't go.
I did get to spend some time chatting with the shop owner, former mayoral candidate Lois MacDonald. They're having an election watch at the coffee shop tomorrow night for the school re-districting issue (more info here: http://www.examiner.net/stories/102007/new_210343218.shtml) and I'm hoping to spend at least part of the evening there, health and children permitting.
